We are seeking a Deputy Regional Advisor to cover the Severn Deanery area and Dorset. The Deputy Regional Advisor will have a complementary role to that of the Regional Advisor and will act on their behalf in their absence.
All consultants or specialty doctors, who are members, fellows, specialist associates or affiliates in good standing with the College for CPD (or can provide evidence of equivalent CPD activity) and who hold a current license to practice from the General Medical Council, are eligible to apply.

Our local Retired Doctors group is very active and we are seeking an additional Retired Doctors Representative to represent and support retired doctors in the South West Division.

A requirement outlined in the current Gold Guide (version 8, 2020) states that a minimum of 10% externality is required at Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) panels across the UK. In order to meet this requirement, we hold a list of trained External Advisors who attend panels at the request of Deaneries/LETBs. In addition to the minimum requirements outlined above, we also receive requests for externality for quality visits and interviews.

The College is recruiting Wellbeing Champions to work with divisions, faculties and devolved nations to raise awareness and knowledge at regional and locality level of the individual and systemic factors that impact on Wellbeing, in addition to promoting RCPsych, local and national resources and gathering feedback from the frontlines on current challenges and areas for improvement.?
In this role you will:
- raise awareness, offer support and promote best practice with regard to wellbeing matters in the region
- develop the presentation and format for delivery locally
- facilitate the presentation and / or workshops in localities up to three times a year
- gather and provide feedback on local issues and concerns regarding workforce wellbeing in localities
- network with other Wellbeing Champions to share best practice and provide peer support
- attend Wellbeing Champions Network meetings (up to three per year)
- attend the SW Executive Committee meetings (four per year)
- advise on the ongoing Wellbeing Champions strategy and helping to revise the programme
- link with other wellbeing-related roles in the NHS People Plan such as the Wellbeing Guardians and the Healthy Workplace Allies.
