Seni Lewis Award 2025 finalists

From Streets to Safety: Sheffield’s Section 136 Transformation (Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and South Yorkshire Police)

Jenny Morton, Quality Improvement Programme Lead, Sheffield Health Partnership, said:

“We’re delighted to be shortlisted for the Seni Lewis Award by the 萝莉视频. This recognition reflects our partnership with South Yorkshire Police to improve care for the people of Sheffield in mental health crisis.

“By introducing a direct line for officers to access mental health professionals, before bringing someone to a health-based place of safety, we’ve embedded best practice and reduced restrictive interventions.

“Around 17% of individuals supported by police are now treated in the community or by local services instead, which is a huge step forward for respectful, compassionate and person-centred care.”

NHS 111 Option 2/S.136 Police Advice Line (South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust)

Bibi Doolaree, Service Manager, South London Partnership, said:

“Being a finalist for the Seni Lewis Award is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we work together to transform mental health care. Our NHS 111 Mental Health service is breaking barriers and creating hope for people in crisis. This recognition inspires us to keep pushing boundaries and delivering care that truly changes lives.”

Tees Crisis Triage and Assessment Hub (Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust)

Sarah Kuster, Service Manager at Teesside Crisis Service, said:

“Being a finalist for the Seni Lewis Award is a privilege. It highlights the vital role our Mental Health Crisis service plays in providing timely, compassionate support to those in need. We are proud to stand alongside others making a difference in mental health care.”
