Dr Kok Keong Leong
International Medical Graduate (IMG) Representative
Dr Kok Keong Leong is the International Medical Graduate (IMG) representative on the PRDC. Kok Keong, who prefers to go by Ivan, is an ST5 Psychiatry Registrar in General Adult Psychiatry and an IMG himself, and brings a wealth of diverse experience and cultural background that aides him to contribute to the improvements in the quality of training and the lives of people with mental illness. He is also passionate about digital mental health and bridging the gaps in the mental health services, which, in turn, improves the efficiency and quality of training for resident doctors.
Ivan believes one of the main challenges that all resident doctors face throughout training is their wellbeing, he understands the difficulties of navigating, integrating and juggling a work-life balance. He collaborates with local resident doctors to identify and address their concerns and wellbeing during their training years and encourages resident doctors to reach out for further discussion.
Outside of work Ivan has a wide range of interests, from yoga and aerial classes to watching plays and musicals with family and friends.
