European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT)
The Psychiatric Resident Doctors’ Committee (PRDC) is celebrating a major win at the 33rd European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT) Forum in Maastricht.
Our team, represented by PRDC Chair Dr. Claire-Marie Hosein and Dr. Mariana Vieira, proudly took home the "Best Poster" award, showcasing outstanding UK-led resident doctors research on an international stage.
The winning poster, "Trans and Non-Binary Healthcare QIP: Improving GPST Knowledge and Confidence," presented a vital quality improvement project. This impactful work was spearheaded by Dr. Mariana Vieira (ST5 GAP), Dr. Olivia Barry (GP), and Dr. Fiona Shaw (ST4 CAMHS). Our representatives effectively conveyed the project's importance to the judges, leading to this fantastic recognition.
The forum's theme, "Residents as Changemakers: Designing a Better Training Programme," highlighted resident doctor-led initiatives that enhance training and patient care. The winning project was chosen for its strong alignment with this mission.
This award is a wonderful recognition of a truly collaborative effort; from the project's dedicated authors to the skilled presentation by our PRDC representatives. We are immensely proud of everyone involved for their hard work and for so successfully highlighting the UK's commitment to innovation in psychiatric training and healthcare.
