Psychiatric Resident Doctors' Committee (PRDC) strategy 2025-2026
萝莉视频 strategy 2025-2026 focuses on four main streams and will support the College to:
- champion workforce wellbeing
- foster meaningful engagement with Resident Doctors and PRDC representatives
- strengthen recruitment and retention within training
- deliver high-quality education, training, and research in psychiatry.
Our overarching mission is to support Resident Doctors throughout their training and enhance the quality of care for people with mental illness, learning difficulties and developmental disorders by continually improving training standards while fostering a culture of support and mutual respect that promotes equality, inclusion, and diversity.
We believe listening to, valuing, and supporting medical students, foundation doctors and Resident Doctors is key to improving recruitment and retention.
Key actions
- Maintain the ongoing input within the College’s Task and Finish working group reviewing the current NHSE-led recruitment process to core and higher specialty training representing Resident Doctors’ views.
- We will collaborate with the College on reviewing the role of Non-Medical Approved and Responsible Clinicians (Multi Professional Approved Clinicians) in mental health by surveying Resident Doctors’ views and local intelligence gathering.
- Continue to advocate within the College regarding the need for a scope of practice for Physician Assistants working in mental health.
- Continue to advocate for the needs of less than full-time (LTFT) Resident Doctors and promote ?exible training pathways that accommodate personal and professional circumstances while maintaining high standards and progression.
- Partner with the Resident Doctors’ Support Committee (RDSC) to support career development initiatives.
- Enhance contact with local Psychiatry Societies (PsychSocs) at UK medical schools to maintain engagement with prospective future psychiatrists.
We believe that fostering stronger connections between Resident Doctors and the PRDC, using the opportunities and platforms available, will enable us to progress our work and achieve our collective ambitions.
