Eastern Division vacancies

We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced members in the Eastern Division.

Changes to the bye-laws and regulations of the College now means that Specialist Associates will be able to vote in College elections and to stand for elected office in the College.

Term of office

  • Five years
  • 0.5 PAs per week

Job purpose

To represent the College on all matters relating to postgraduate education and professional development and to support the Regional Advisor in the review and approval of appropriate job descriptions in psychiatric posts.

The Deputy Regional Advisor will have a complementary role to that of the Regional Advisor and will act on their behalf in their absence. A Deputy Regional Advisor is not necessarily expected to become a Regional Advisor in due course.

There are currently a number of Regional Specialty Representative roles within the Eastern Division in the following specialties:

  • Eating Disorders
  • Forensic
  • General Adult
  • Liaison
  • Medical Psychotherapy
  • Neuropsychiatry

Regional Specialty Representatives are appointed locally to support Regional Advisors and Deputy Regional Advisors, by providing expert advice on their psychiatric sub-specialty.

The recommended term is five years, though this can vary depending circumstances. The roles can also be taken up as a shared role with another colleague, or alongside any other existing College role.

To facilitate the College’s recruitment strategy in promoting activities aimed at improving recruitment to the CT1 and ST4 grades in psychiatry. These activities should reflect the overall strategy outlined in the current RCPsych Recruitment Strategy. The College strategy is overseen by the Associate Dean for Choose Psychiatry, under the auspices of the Dean.
