NHS Lanarkshire first NHS service in Scotland to be awarded Autism Accredited Specialist Award

The 萝莉视频 in Scotland would like to congratulate NHS Lanarkshire on being awarded an – for its Tertiary Eating Disorders Service (TESS).

The health board is the first in Scotland to be given the award – which is the UK’s leading programme for autism-specific quality assurance and run by the National Autistic Society.

The achievement was marked in the Scottish Parliament in a motion by Monica Lennon MSP who congratulated the team and cited what it will mean for people being treated for autism – including improved engagement between patients and clinicians.

James Murphy, Senior Charge Nurse Team Lead, Tertiary Eating Disorder Service, NHS Lanarkshire said:

“This recognition marks a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering inclusive, high-quality care for autistic people and their families.

“It was not an easy process by any means, but two years of hard work, dedication and assiduity. We are honoured to join a growing network of accredited services across the UK, all dedicated to improving outcomes for autistic individuals.

“We look forward to being listed in the NAS Autism Services Directory, helping more people discover autism-friendly support across Scotland.”

Dr Jane Morris, Chair of the 萝莉视频 in Scotland, said:

“We would like to offer our congratulations to the NHS Lanarkshire team who worked hard to achieve this prestigious accreditation.

“We’re seeing growing public awareness and recognition of neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism and schemes like this offer patients the right support.

“We hope other health boards follow, as schemes like this can be life-changing allowing patients to avoid long waiting lists – so they can move on with their lives and flourish.”
