CAPSS reporting process

CAPSS membership is open to all consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

It's critical that you keep your email and contact details with the CAPSS team up-to-date, to ensure you're able to support any ongoing or future studies. Use the link above to both register and update your details with the team.

Once registered - and when a study is running - participating members will receive a monthly e-Card during the surveillance period, inviting them to confirm whether or not a case has been seen of the rare disorder or clinical event currently being studied.

Members will receive advance notice of when surveillance periods for new studies begin. During these surveillance periods, e-Cards will be emailed to members on the 1st of every month, to make their report. The e-Card takes just a minute to complete. One 'reminder' email will be sent two weeks later.

If a case is reported, we will share your contact details with the investigating team, who will follow-up with a short questionnaire. If a case is not seen in a given month, it is still vital for investigators to receive your confirmation, to support their epidemiological studies.

All registered members will also receive the CAPSS newsletter and updates on our masterclass programme

You can opt out of CAPSS at any point by emailing us.

If you have any further questions about the CAPSS reporting process, please email CAPSS@rcpsych.ac.uk.
