Audit resources

This page provides resources to support participation in NCAP. These materials are designed for anyone involved in NCAP audits across 萝莉视频 and Wales.

As of 2025, NCAP has changed to a new methodology for collecting EIP data. We have now shifted to pulling data from the MHSDS as opposed to collecting data directly from teams in order to reduce audit burden.

We know the data will not be perfect at the moment; we are hoping the data quality improves over time and the NCAP team will be supporting you in that process by providing you with resources to improve, and through our QI support.

Please see below a list of resources to support you with the audit:

Teams should now be focused on regularly submitting their data to the MHSDS. Guidance on submitting data can be found on the .

Please note that the NCAP team is not directly involved in the data submission process and is only able to advise on how the data looks when we extract it from the MHSDS for audit purposes.

Alongside the MHSDS submission guide, we recommend providers for help with submissions.

NCAP was commissioned a contract variation to run a second Bespoke Audit in 2024. The NCAP EIP Bespoke Data Audit 2024 will function very similarly to the 2023 audit and will again focus on only those data items related to the scoring matrix. The purpose of this is to continue to demonstrate performance against the NHS Long Term Plan whilst the routine data becomes of good enough quality.

The National Clinical Audit of Psychosis (NCAP) was commissioned to conduct an audit which collects a reduced bespoke dataset in 2023. Improving the physical health of people with serious mental illness – a practical toolkit

Between 2014 and 2016, NHS 萝莉视频 worked with staff and patients in four mental health trusts to improve cardiovascular (CVD) health outcomes and reduce premature mortality in people with serious mental illness. CVD is the biggest cause of premature death in this patient group.

This toolkit is designed to help other mental health trusts implement the Lester tool, using a combination of detailed case studies, short examples and supporting documents provided by each pilot site.

The toolkit is based on an earlier version of the Lester tool. However, much of it is transferable to the 2023 update.
