Event Information

SEPSIG is excited to announce that this year’s annual in-person conference will be on the theme of sport and trauma.

On this topic we will hear from Dr Tim Rodgers, an internationally recognised sports psychiatrist and the first doctor in the UK to receive certification by the International Society for Sport Psychiatry.

We will also hear from Dr Aura Goldman, a Chartered Psychologist, psychotherapist, and certified Somatic Experiencing? Practitioner with a background in sport and performance psychology, trauma and the science of transformation.

Dr Nicoletta P. Lekka, a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist at Sheffield Health and accredited Coach, with a longstanding interest in dancer mental health and dance for health, will speak to us about early life trauma in dancers.

Dr Noori Husain (SEPSIG social media executive) will chair an equestrian panel discussion focused on the intersection between mental and physical health.

Finally, we will hear from Paula Manning, a Physical Activity Clinical Champion and physiotherapist by background. Paula specialises in helping mental health healthcare professionals learn more about the value and effectiveness of having conversations with patients about the benefits of physical activity.

We welcome all who have an interest in sports psychiatry, an emerging subspecialty at the interface of mental health, exercise and performance.

Trainees are also most welcome, there will be opportunities to network as well as a special trainee engagement segment led by Sam Cummings, Head of Mental Health at the UK Sports Institute.
