Registrar election 2025

Here you can find out about the six candidates standing for election to become College Registrar, as well as how to watch our online hustings event, and how to vote in the election itself.

Professor Owen Bowden-Jones elected as next Registrar

3 April 2025: Professor Owen Bowden-Jones has been elected the next Registrar of the 萝莉视频 – in a ballot which saw a turnout of 19.4% (3,303 votes) – in an election which had six impressive contenders.

His roles include Consultant in Addiction Psychiatry, Honorary Professor, Chair of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs and President of a national academic society. Owen has spent his career championing co-produced, evidence-based mental health care."

"Challenges to quality, safety and professional autonomy in psychiatry are high, and belief in evidence-based psychiatry has been eroded. I am standing for Registrar because have substantial experience of working with governments, influencing policy and promoting evidence-based psychiatry, and will champion our profession, our members, our patients and their families."

Dr Adrian James elected Registrar.

Voter turnout: 24.9%

Dr Laurence Mynors-Wallis elected Registrar.

Total number of votes cast: 1,841

Voter turnout: 15.7%

2005

Professor Sue Bailey elected Registrar unopposed.

All Members, Fellows and Specialist Associates are able to vote in Registrar elections.

 

If you are eligible to vote (please check eligibility section above), you will automatically be included in the electorate. The email address that you have registered with us as your default will be given to the Civica Election Services (formerly Electoral Reform Services) who will send you an email with a link to the voting site.
