Caroline Rivett
Lay Trustee
Caroline Rivett is a specialist in cyber security and privacy in life sciences and healthcare. She has worked with some of the world’s largest life science companies to help secure their data and systems from cyber-attack and prepare them to safely use AI. Caroline is a Chartered Accountant, has an MBA with distinction from Ashridge Hult Business School, and a First Class Honours in Biochemistry from Imperial. She regularly appears on panels and interviews discussions talking about Women in Security and Responsible Use of AI.
Caroline qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY and then worked across Europe, the US, and southern Africa. After joining Aviva, she led change programmes in the Finance team which included offshoring and understanding the cost and price of internal services.
Whilst her children were small, Caroline was a Non-Executive Director in the NHS including at the Tavistock & Portman, and she also co-founded a digital health start-up working with life insurance companies which risk-assessed individuals’ health.
Caroline was KPMG’s Global Lead for Cyber & Privacy in Life Sciences for ten years. She was a Cyber Partner based out of London leading complex global programmes to improve security and privacy in life science, health, education and consumer products. She has advised companies on responsible use of AI, and is a qualified AI Governance Professional. In her role as KPMG UK’s People Partner for Corporates management consulting, Caroline was responsible for staff members’ progress and wellbeing and the improvement of culture within KPMG UK.
