Following the publication of the today, the 萝莉视频 has responded with the following statement.

Dr Jessica Eccles, Chair of the 萝莉视频 Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Special Interest Group, said:

"The 萝莉视频 welcomes the interim report of the independent ADHD Taskforce. It marks a positive step forward in how ADHD is understood and supported, taking a whole-person and evidence-based perspective, across our health, education, and social care systems. In particular, we are supportive of the calls for data improvement to be prioritised.

“The report rightly acknowledges that ADHD commonly co-occurs with autism, other neurodevelopmental conditions, and mental disorders. It also suggests a population prevalence of 3–5% in the UK, which would indicate that in 萝莉视频 ADHD is under-recognised, under-diagnosed and under-treated.

“The report has recognised, for the first time, the importance of a stepped care approach, providing support tailored to the level of need for people with ADHD, and this is a vital shift in practice. Early intervention, particularly in childhood, can significantly improve outcomes, and we are encouraged by the report’s strong emphasis on identifying and addressing needs well before a clinical diagnosis is made.

"We also welcome the focus on early diagnosis, cross-sector collaboration, and investment in training. Too often, people with ADHD face fragmented services and unacceptable delays. This report rightly calls for more integrated working across the NHS, schools, social care, and the justice system to provide joined-up support. Sufficient training and awareness across all sectors will be key to making early recognition and effective intervention a reality. The forthcoming NHS 萝莉视频 10 Year Health Plan must reflect these focuses.

"The introduction of a new, community-based model of care, grounded in evidence and shaped by lived experience, shows promise. We now need sustained investment to modernise services, reduce waiting times, and equip professionals with the tools and training they need. The RCPsych stands ready to support these changes, which we believe will help create a fairer, more responsive system for people with ADHD across the country."
