The South Eastern Division welcome Professor Ramalingam Chithiramohan and Agostina Succhi who will deliver talks on the pharmacological management of chronic insomnia and recent research on Clozapine.

Speakers
Professor Ramalingam Chithiramohan: Pharmacological management of Chronic Insomnia with a special focus on the role of Orexin and Dual Orexin receptor Antagonists
Professor Ramalingam Chithiramohan, is a Consultant Psychiatrist and former Deputy Medical Director and Director of Governance and Service Effectiveness at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. He is now the Lead Consultant for Birmingham and Solihull Memory Assessment services.
In the last three years, he was involved with the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) in delivering education in Low and Middle income countries. He has developed a number of online training modules on Vascular Cognitive Impairment/ HIV and mental health, timely diagnosis of dementia and Dementias with Parkinsonian features. He was also a member of the WPA Evidence-Based Psychopharmacology Special Interest Group.
Key learning outcomes of presentation:
- To learn about the health implications of Chronic insomnia
- To learn about the role of Orexin in Sleep Wake regulation
- To learn about the appropriate short and longer-term use of hypnotics
