Dr Lauren Waterman is a consultant psychiatrist at North London NHS Foundation Trust, with a special interest in insomnia, and MD(Res) doctoral student at the IoPPN, King’s College London, with research focusing on the mental health of asylum seekers and immigration detention centre healthcare. 

She founded and led an insomnia treatment service at the Maudsley Hospital for existing SLaM patients and conducted a comprehensive population health needs assessment for insomnia. 

Dr Waterman also co-developed an insomnia treatment pathway for North Central London and has contributed to in raising awareness and improving access to insomnia treatment at both local and national levels.
